BBQ Cajun Shrimp:

📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp of butter

  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1/2 onion

  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 3 tsp Whiskey Flats Cajun Seasoning 

  • 2 tsp Whiskey Flats BBQ Rub

  • 1 lb peeled, cleaned large shrimp

  • 1/3 cup dark beer

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice + 1 lemon, sliced

  • 1/4 cup hot sauce

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

👨‍🍳 Directions:

1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

2. Add garlic and sauté for approximately 1 minute.

3. Add onion and bell peppers, and sauté for 2 minutes.

4. Add Worcestershire sauce and Whiskey Flats Cajun Seasoning rub.

Cook for 1 minute.

5. Pour in the beer and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.

6.Add lemon juice, hot sauce, black pepper, and lemon slices.

Cook for another 2–3 minutes.

7. Add the prawns and cook for 3–4 minutes, or until they are fully cooked.

8. Reduce heat to low and finish with a bit of butter.

🔥 Pro Tips:

  • Don’t overcook the shrimp – They only need 3–4 minutes. Once they turn pink and curl into a “C” shape, they’re perfectly done. 

  • Serve with crusty bread or over rice – This dish has a rich, flavorful sauce you don’t want to waste.

  • Use a cast iron skillet if possible – It holds heat beautifully and adds that extra layer of flavor from a good sear.
